10% off for all first-time customers!

Translation, English editingAs scientists, medical professionals and academics ourselves, our goal is to support you in publishing and presenting your research in the most effective way, sharing your findings with as large an audience as possible and contributing to advancing the world’s knowledge.

To do this, your manuscripts must not only be accurate and highly readable, but also have the right ‘look and feel’ for readers in your specialist field. We therefore assign your work to specialists. This ensures that everyone who reads your work—whether they be reviewers, journal readers, conference goers, research collaborators, customers or others—focuses on the importance of your message.

Find out more about our comprehensive services below. Please note that we have created this English page for the convenience of our clients who are visiting researchers and academics, and as such the information provided here constitutes an overview of our services only. The translation team assigned to your translation project is composed of a specialist translator and specialist native editor. Many hold advanced degrees or professional licenses and all are excellent writers.

Because we understand that not everyone needs the highest quality translation work all of the time, we offer two different levels of service, priced differently to meet your needs. If you are not sure which service to choose, we recommend our standard translation service, as this will produce a higher quality manuscript as required by most journal publications and conferences.

Standard translation

We recommend our standard translation service to authors who plan to submit their work to international journals or conferences, where the competition to publish is fierce. An excellent manuscript will ensure the journal editor and reviewers concentrate on the quality of your research and not become distracted by how the manuscript is written.

Your specialist translator is paired with a specialist native editor who will polish the translated document before we return it to you. This ensures the document has good logical flow and high readability.

If you wish to make changes to the translated document, you have the opportunity to have the manuscript checked again by your translation team before submission (during a proof check) at no additional cost to you. This ensures that the manuscript says exactly what you want it to say.

Members’ discount

Our members receive 5% off all future standard translation jobs as our way of saying thank you for their continued business.

Draft translation

We recommend our draft translation service if you have limited budget or if you require the translation for your own reference purposes and not for publication, or if you wish to edit the final manuscript yourself.

Your translator will complete the translation of your text and we will return this to you without being edited for logical flow, removal of repetition, concise style, etc. No proof check is included in this price.

Note: We also accept manuscripts that require translation and editing of different sections of the manuscript.

Whenever possible, please provide us with a list in Japanese and English of the main technical terms used in your manuscript. This ensures your translation team uses the technical terms you prefer, as sometimes there can be more than one technical term to express a concept. Also, if you would like your translation team to use a particular style of writing, you may provide a reference paper to us and the team will emulate the writing style.

Editing services
Editing services
Japanese, English, French, Spanish, Russian, etc.

Many of our editors and proofreaders hold advanced degrees or professional licenses and all are excellent writers.

Because we understand that not everyone needs the highest quality editing work all of the time, we offer two different levels of service, priced differently to meet your varying needs. If you are not sure which service to choose, we recommend our comprehensive editing service, as this will produce a higher quality manuscript as required by most journal publications and conferences.

Comprehensive editing

We recommend our comprehensive editing service to authors who plan to submit their work to international journals, where the competition to publish is fierce, or who wish to prepare the highest quality documents for books, grant applications, international conferences or promotional literature.

Your native editor will correct grammar, spelling and punctuation errors, upgrade vocabulary, fix awkward phrases, remove redundancies, and improve the overall readability and logical flow of the manuscript as necessary.

If your editor has any comments or questions relating to specific text, these will be inserted directly into the manuscript for you to address before submission. These comments and questions will be written in English. You have the opportunity to query, clarify and discuss—in English—specific aspects of the edited text with your editor during a final proof check.

Members’ discount

Our members receive free proof checks as our way of saying thank you for their continued business.

Proofreading

We recommend our proofreading service if you have excellent English writing skills or if you have made some changes to a manuscript that a native speaker previously worked on.

Your proofreader will correct grammar, spelling and punctuation errors, upgrade vocabulary and fix awkward phrases. Your editor will not comment on the text unless absolutely necessary, or remove redundancies or create good logical flow.

Presentation coaching: We offer a number of specialized training courses aimed at helping our clients to write academic papers or give technical presentations and speeches in an impressive and professional manner that maximizes the chances of the reader/audience remembering the key points made.
