zukan.tv (http://www.zukan.tv/) is a video site for researchers. It broadcasts interviews with researchers in various fields and in different areas of the world. As of May 2009, it contains 345 interviews (including Japanese and English). Through conversations between the researchers and the interviewer, zukan.tv aims to reveal the researcher’s motivation for research as well as their true nature which can’t be obtained through their papers. Try watching some of their interviews – you might gain inspiration from the research shown in your own and different research fields.

zukan.tv’s activity is not limited to interviewing and online broadcasting. It also organizes closed seminars held by researchers from various fields, as well as other activities which promote collaboration between researchers. By utilizing know-how gathered through over 300 interviews, zukan.tv also cooperates with outside organizations such as iCeMS (the Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences, Kyoto University).
