Lecture: Introduction to Medical Writing (2 hours)

Our “Introduction to Medical Writing“ lecture is designed to help you make instant improvements in your medical writing skills.

Although billed as an introductory session, this lecture has been well received not only by those new to medical writing, but also by veteran writers. This is because we give many tips that can help you avoid common writing errors, tips which are based on our many years of experience in the medical writing industry.

What makes this course different?

1. The lecture is tailored to your specialty. Writing examples and exercises are taken from your discipline, so you can more easily learn the writing skills we teach and apply them immediately to your own writing.


2. The lecture presents an overview of all the important aspects to consider when writing a medical paper. These include writing effective titles, establishing good logical flow, and ensuring you have good attention to detail. We also offer tips to help you avoid unnecessary delays in the submission process.


3. Many of the tips we give in the lecture do not appear in text books on how to write effective medical papers.


4. We encourage you to ask questions about medical English writing itself (grammar, style, etc), the submission and peer review process, and any other issues you might have encountered when writing papers.


5. This lecture can be taken as an individual session or as part of our full medical writing course. All of our 2-hour lectures include practical writing exercises so you can try out your new skills and find out answers to any questions you have.
