Gone are the days of submitting three hard copies of your paper by post or submitting it on disk to your target journal. The vast majority of journals now require that you submit your research paper by uploading files via their online submission system.

While some submission systems are relatively easy to navigate, others are lengthy and complex. Unless you have used a specific journal’s submission system before, you cannot be sure that the administration and uploading process will proceed quickly and smoothly.
